News Press: Meet Anber, a teen who struggles with mental health. Did the system fail her?

Tragically, children in foster care are raped and physically assaulted at shelters like Youth Haven that are not equipped to address the individual therapeutic needs of children.

The Fort Myers News Press has started a five-part series that offers an up-close look into the world of Anber, “who drifted in and out of mental health and foster care systems much of her childhood.” The reporters contributing to this series documented her for one year before she aged out of the state’s foster care system for good.
