KTLA: New details released in High Desert torture case involving 6 foster children
As reported by KTLA, a San Bernardino County couple and their adult daughter have been accused of allegedly torturing six foster children, whose ages ranged from 4 to 16. According to a press release from the district attorney’s office, the trio allegedly subjected the children to “years of physical, emotional, and mental abuse,” including “daily beatings, strangulation to the point of unconsciousness, and punishments of withholding food and water from the children for a period of days.”
Far too often, our foster care abuse lawyers encounter similar stories, sometimes where warning signs are missed and more could have been done to protect children in care. Foster children have rights, and anyone with knowledge about their care should seek legal advice about protecting their rights.
Our team at Justice for Kids® can provide critical legal support for children injured or abused by foster parents, adoptive parents or other caregivers. We are currently investigating allegations of abuse on behalf of a group of siblings who were in foster care in San Bernadino County.
