Prominent Children’s Rights Attorney Howard Talenfeld Named to Forbes Top 200 American Lawyers

Howard M. Talenfeld, a leading children’s rights attorney and Business Unit Leader of Justice for Kids, a division of Kelley Kronenberg, has been recognized on Forbes’ inaugural list of America’s Top 200 Lawyers. He is one of only six lawyers on the list nationally selected for Civil Rights Law.

According to Forbes, this list highlights the finest practitioners in the profession—lawyers with stellar track records in their specialties, those who have broken barriers to emerge as leaders in their fields, and those most respected by peers and clients.

The editor of the section noted, “Talenfeld is a crusader for children’s rights and those injured by the negligence of others. As Partner and Practice Lead of the Justice for Kids Division of Kelley Kronenberg, Talenfeld has represented thousands of foster and adoptive children in personal injury claims for abuse and neglect and led a class action case for systemic reform.”

Talenfeld is known for having established a robust children’s rights practice spanning Florida and expanding into other states. His work on behalf of at-risk children has improved many lives and has resulted in precedent-setting judicial decisions and legislative reforms. For more than two decades, he has served as Founder and Board President for Florida’s Children First, an award-winning nonprofit organization that advocates before the Florida Legislature, Congress and other governmental entities to make positive systemic changes to improve children’s lives.

Among his many achievements, Talenfeld has consistently been selected by Florida Trend magazine for its annual Florida 500 list, which highlights the 500 most influential executives in different economic sectors throughout Florida. Additionally, he was recognized by The Florida Bar Foundation as the recipient of the 2018 Medal of Honor Award for a Lawyer, and he has been recognized for his efforts with The Florida Bar’s President’s Award of Merit and the Florida Bar President’s Pro Bono Service Award for the 17th Judicial Circuit.
